Everyday of the week is a great opportunity to taste the most delicious restaurants that remain open during the winter in Ibiza.
Little by little we are noticing that the whirlwind of tourists that fills up Ibiza in the summer months is gradually leaving the island and lead to a few weeks of peace and calm accompanied by the good weather we still have, but without that suffocating heat of August.
The discos and restaurants are hanging their posters « closed until 2019 season », and the gastronomic offer of the island is reduced considerably, but that does not affect the quality, quite the contrary … they can put more care to their work and those who stay in Ibiza all year long we appreciate it. We propose a gastronomic route with a restaurant for each day of the week.
Monday: Can Terra
We propose you to start the week in Ibiza downtown, with some good tapas, and a place that enjoys an ambience as if it was the center of Madrid. Can Terra is a restaurant known for its pinchos, although they also have a la carte service. You take a plate and your pinchos and you sit down in one of the small tables or in the bar.
Tuesday: La Paloma
La Paloma Café is one of the most unique and romantic establishments in Ibiza. It is located in a country house, in the center of San Lorenzo, open to the countryside and surrounded by a garden of orange and lemon trees. When the weather is fine, even in winter, eating outdoors next to the fruit trees is a real pleasure; as if you were in the middle of Tuscany. There is often live environmental music, accordion and other instruments, which brings even more magic. On grey days, diners retire inside, by the fire.
Wednesday: Can Domo
It is like getting into a dream from the moment you cross the beautiful wooden door of the entrance next to the orchard that is nourished to make delicious dishes of haute cuisine, but with an Ibizan touch. This agrotourism is careful to the smallest detail thanks to Alexandra Vermeiren in the room, and Pau Barba in front of his kitchen makes any evening is unique. All in the menu is delicious, so you should go several times this winter to try it all. It never fails.
Thursday: La Imprenta
Suddenly it is like we were transported to a fashionable restaurant in a great cosmopolitan city … as if we were in London, Paris or New York. Its interior design is warm and cozy, ideal for winter days on the island.
Chef Pablo Montoro has visited La Imprenta to share his extensive experience in the preparation of recipes of Spanish and French cuisine. Get ready for an impressive parade of delicacies, literally speaking, because here their elaborations dress up in order to offer a visual spectacle without equal.
Friday: Maison Le Vrai
Very close to La Imprenta we find the restaurant Maison Le Vrai, with a French and sophisticated air, but intimate and avant-garde at the same time. Chef Ahmed Darraz has designed an original culinary proposal, inspired by the best of French and Mediterranean cuisine. The small details and the original touches of the author are of great importance in his menu and, to match each dish, the restaurant has an extensive cocktail and wine list. The music of Maison Le Vrai, completes the experience and recreates a perfect environment to prolong the evening enjoying a drink or a tasty cocktail in the best company.
Saturday: Can Pau
Can Pau is one of the most emblematic restaurants of Ibiza for decades, all kinds of national and international personalities have come through and has a loyal clientele thanks to the charisma and great work of Alba Pau, in front of the restaurant since its inception and now with the help of their sons who take over to maintain the highest level of the restaurant buisness of their mother.
The whole menu is delicious, but it has star dishes that will make you lick your fingers, such as croquettes, fried starchy eggs, foie gras with salt, baby goat steaks, steak tartar … and you cannot leave without trying one of its spectacular homemade desserts!
Sunday: La Escollera
The enclave in which La Escollera is located already makes it a place worth visiting, located at one end of Es Cavallet beach, next to the Las Salinas natural park. The restaurant is open every day of the year and is frequented by residents who know the good work of their cooks and the pleasure they feel in those winter days when the sun is visible. A good paella and the views of one of the most unspoiled beaches on the island are the perfect combination to enjoy this place any day of the season.
