30 July, 2019

We have gathered the best 5 places to watch the sun come down in Ibiza. If you are not a regular visitor to the island, we will help you discover 5 places to see spectacular sunsets in Ibiza. But if this is your first time, take note of the following spots and enjoy a different sunset every day. The west side of the island is most likely the best area to watch sunset. Do not settle for just one or the first. The more you see, the better. In Ibiza, each sunset is unique, especially if you change the scenery around you. Just grab a drink, your sunglasses and enjoy the sunsets for free.

1.- Platjes de Comte

A must. One of the best places to enjoy the sunsets throughout the year. Due to its orientation, any month of the year is good to get to this beautiful set of coves. From here you can see the isles of Sa Conillera, des Bosc and the set of islets of Poniente. Moreover, its waters are among the most beautiful on the island.

2.- Ses Variades

A real classic. From May to October, this stretch of the Sant Antoni promenade is alive at sunset, listening to the best chill-out music of Café del Mar, Café Mambo and others sounds. After sunset, electronic music takes over and the atmosphere becomes even more festive. During July and August, this area gathers a large number of passers-by as well as locals, so if you don’t like crowds, just walk to Caló des Moro, it’s much quieter.

3.- Cap Negret

A hidden gem. You can enjoy the sunset from the belvedere or look for your new favorite corner by the cliff. From here you will not only see the isles of Conillera and des Bosc, (southbound) but also the imposing Cape Nonó (northbound). And if you want to have a cocktail drink, a few steps away you will find the right spot, Hostal La Torre. Ideal for couples or people looking for a romantic setup.

4.- Cala Benirrás

Another essential sunset experience, with the iconic isle of Es Cap Bernat in the background. During summer, Sundays and full moon day concentrate a large number of attendees who come to enjoy the sunset to the rhythm of local artists playing the drums. Surely, a place that becomes crowded during the months of July and August.

5.- Cala d’Hort
This natural area opened next to the cliff is one of the best viewpoints of the island, from it you have an amazing panoramic view of the famous island of Es Vedrá, one of the emblems of Ibiza. Although the sunset is best observed during the months of autumn, winter and spring, in summer it is also worth approaching this area. From this point you can also climb to the Tower des Savinar. If privacy is what you are looking for, between the beach of Cala d’Hort and this platform setting there are numerous spots where you can watch the sunset in an intimate and total private surrounding.
